Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for a meticulous and qualified Accountant to manage our day-to-day accounting operations, prepare financial reports, ensure full tax compliance, and support our annual audit process.
• You will deliver accurate financial information that supports effective business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the organisation's accounting system
• Prepare monthly management accounts including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and perform regular reconciliations
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and resolve outstanding items
• Compute and remit monthly PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, pension, and NSITF contributions within statutory deadlines
• Maintain the fixed asset register and compute depreciation in line with company policy
• Coordinate and support the annual external audit, preparing all required audit schedules
• Prepare quarterly budget-versus-actual variance analyses and report key findings to management
• Liaise with banks, FIRS, and other regulatory bodies on routine financial andcompliance matters
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• ICAN Associate member or active ICAN/ACCA student with significant examinations completed
• 4 -7 years of relevant accounting experience in a structured organization
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws including CITA, PITA, and VAT Act
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling
• Thorough understanding of FIRS as applicable to financial statement preparation
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality
