Chief Technology Officer

We are looking for an experienced CTO/Engineering Leader to lead our technology and engineering function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the technical vision, building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, and ensuring the development of scalable, secure, and high-quality products. This role requires a strong combination of technical depth, engineering leadership, product thinking, and execution skills.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the technology and engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the end-to-end software development and engineering lifecycle.
• Architect and oversee the development of scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
• Build, manage, and mentor high-performing engineering teams.
• Establish engineering best practices around architecture, coding standards, testing, CI/CD, DevOps, and security.
• Work closely with the CEO, Product, Design, and Business teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Own technical roadmaps, architecture decisions, technology selection, and engineering priorities.
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of products and features.
• Drive system scalability, performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Identify technical risks and establish processes to address them proactively.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the business.
• Develop a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone who can think strategically while remaining technically hands-on when required, a leader who can own the technology vision, make strong architectural decisions, and build an engineering organization capable of scaling with the business.
• 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, technology leadership, or engineering management.
• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing and building scalable production-grade applications.
• Strong knowledge of at least one modern programming ecosystem, such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, . NET, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with AWS / Azure / GCP and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of microservices, system design, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.
• Experience working in product-led / fast-paced technology environments.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a startup or high-growth organization.
• Experience taking products from 0 to 1 and/or scaling them from 1 to 10
• Prior experience as CTO, VP of Engineering, Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or Tech Lead.
• Experience with AI/ML, SaaS, fintech, marketplaces, or other relevant technology domains is a plus.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
