Job Description

The Technical Manager supports the Business Unit in technical, scientific, and veterinary medical areas. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, and Regulatory Affairs, the role provides scientific expertise and customer support to help achieve commercial objectives across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

External Customer Interaction

  • Support Regulatory Managers and designated contacts in handling pharmacovigilance cases, product communications, and other regulatory matters requiring technical, scientific, and veterinary expertise.

  • Provide scientific support to farmers, clinics, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

  • Offer diagnostic support in farm and clinic settings.

  • Develop and deliver product-related communications to clients.

  • Ensure scientific education and training are provided effectively.

Scientific Community and KOL Engagement

  • Deliver high-quality scientific information through regular and well-organized visits to KOLs, universities, and medical stakeholders in the region.

  • Promote scientific education and training.

  • Initiate, organize, and lead scientific events with KOLs and other key stakeholders, including advisory boards, expert meetings, and focus groups.

Internal Customer Support

  • Develop and deliver high-quality scientific training for sales representatives and other internal staff.

  • Contribute to strategic and tactical marketing planning by incorporating customer feedback, scientific product data, pricing insights, and practical product experience.

  • Review all marketing materials prepared for regional release to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide field consultancy to support sales activities across the region.

  • Build and maintain a strong network with international technical managers.

  • Collaborate with global marketing species teams.

Product Support

  • Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge at the highest level by following veterinary literature, engaging with KOLs and professional societies, participating in symposia and congresses, attending internal and external training, and using mentoring and other knowledge resources.

  • Work closely with Marketing to create scientifically accurate, high-quality promotional materials.

  • Monitor competitive intelligence.

  • Initiate and manage scientific and technical projects aligned with short-, mid-, and long-term marketing and sales plans.

Compliance

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with compliance requirements and the code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Veterinary Medicine.

  • PhD or relevant specialization in the required species area is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Practical experience in veterinary practice related to the relevant species, or in a scientific organization or technical services role.

  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

  • High level of diplomacy, negotiation skills, and constructive assertiveness when working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent presentation and scientific writing skills.

  • Understanding of marketing and business principles is preferred but not required.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Advanced Hungarian language skills.
