Cloud & AI Infra is a growth opportunity for Microsoft Azure, as well as its partners and customers. It includes a rich portfolio of products including IaaS and PaaS services on the Azure Platform. These technologies empower customers to digitally transform through Cloud migrations, modernizing their infrastructure and processes to innovate.
The main goal of Microsoft Digital Solution Engineer (DSE) is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our technology. The DSE is expected to be able to both own and win customers’ technical decisions, as well as find new opportunities through their contacts and engagements for sales specialists to pursue. As a DSE, you work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrate, and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision, allowing the team to achieve/exceed quarterly sales targets in your accounts. Being part of this team will allow you to maintain and develop your deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies.
Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with executives. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects. The ability to influence and build relationships across technical and business teams. Demonstrates executive presence, presentation skills, deep technical product demo abilities, written and verbal communication skills. Works cohesively with customers, the Microsoft account team, and Microsoft partners. Helps others succeed by identifying and promoting innovative solutions and strategies. Experience in creating Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for customers that lead to production deployments.
Responsibilities
- Own technical sales with customers’ technical decision makers (TDMs) leveraging processes and tools, demos, programs, offers, and drive proof of concepts (POCs) using consultative sales methodology and technical expertise across other Digital Solution Engineers to influence the customer vision.
- Build trusted advisor relationship with customers’ technical decision makers (TDMs and TDM-1) and use proactive effort to find and understand customers’ pain points and work together with customers to co-develop secure & resilient solution architecture for production scale delivery using Microsoft and Industry practices including Unified Support and Partner Led offers for every opportunity.
- Overcome competitors and technical objections and manage customer escalation with engineering team to share insights and best practices for product improvements.
- Critical to maintain and grow expertise in Cloud Migration and Modernization (Win, SQL, Linux, App workloads, resiliency, security, compliance) and enterprise applications such as ERP, LMS and education industry applications.
- Important to maintain and grow expertise in Azure Infrastructure, Modernization, AI and Security.
- Keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the infrastructure technical community.
- CRM milestones pipeline ownership, including forecast reporting.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
This role requires proficiency in written, reading, and conversational Spanish, Portuguese, and English to support business operations and customer/stakeholder communications across the applicable markets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 8+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
Certification in relevant Microsoft or industry technologies or disciplines (e.g., Microsoft 365, Power BI, Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), cloud platform technologies, information security, or architecture).
Deep domain knowledge in Data Center Migration, Windows Server, and SQL Server Migration (including modernization to PaaS), VMware, Networking, Security, Storage, BCDR, Infra as Code, Hybrid and Arc, or hands-on experience working with the respective products at the expert level. Additionally deep knowledge/experience with Azure Migrate and RVTools.
Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of competitor cloud migration platforms, infrastructure and services including hybrid cloud technologies.
Experience creating cloud migration Proof of Concepts (PoC), Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for customers that lead to production deployments. Relationship Building: Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects. The ability to influence and build relationships across technical and business teams.
