As a Cloud & AI Infrastructure Solution Engineer you will lead, serve and guide the technical sales process and decisions in the customers. This role involves guiding customers through technical decisions, driving proof of concepts, and collaborating with teams to accelerate business outcomes in AI Coud infrastructure and Apps Modernization. The Cloud & AI Solution Engineering team hire experienced Cloud & AI Infrastructure Solution Engineers who manage at level 400 core Agentic Migrations & Apps Modernization with Databases as SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos across Windows, Linux, Cloud Networking, Storage, VMWare (AVS), ARC and AI Monitor. Responsibilities
- Lead customer discussions on Cloud & AI migration and modernization, using consultative sales methods, demonstrations, programs, and technical expertise to shape the customer’s vision. Establish clear roles, boundaries, and handoff strategies across extended teams.
- Develop Cloud & AI infrastructure migration and modernization strategies that translate the agreed vision into an actionable roadmap. Address concerns, remove technical blockers, validate the business case, and explain complex technology in terms of business impact.
- Work with customers, account teams, and partners to guide platform decisions and implementation planning across VMware, Windows, SQL Server, Linux, storage, networking, application services, and databases.
- Design solutions using cloud infrastructure expertise, sound architecture, consulting skills, and Microsoft methodologies. Lead proofs of concept and pilots that build momentum toward minimum viable products, incorporating migration, modernization, and AI technologies where appropriate.
- Drive workload migration and modernization across Windows, SQL Server, .NET, Linux, PostgreSQL, Java, and VMware. Use Azure Landing Zones to provide the governance, security, and scalability needed to rehost, replatform, refactor, or rebuild workloads on an enterprise-ready foundation.
- Lead technical conversations that demonstrate Azure’s native integration across Microsoft and open-source platforms, helping customers preserve existing investments and accelerate innovation.
- Help customers reduce cost and complexity by retiring legacy systems and adopting scalable, automated cloud infrastructure. Use Azure Migrate, GitHub Copilot for Azure, Azure Copilot, and FinOps tools to accelerate transformation, streamline. remediation, and optimize spending.
- Guide technical decisions for hybrid, multicloud, and sovereign environments, ensuring compliance, consistency, and control with Azure Arc and Azure Local.
- Help secure the customer’s environment end to end, from applications to infrastructure, with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Purview.
- Collaborate across migration and modernization teams to support VMware, networking, SQL Server, Windows Server, storage, monitoring, AI applications, and data foundations.
- Partner with specialists and account teams to identify new opportunities, create pipeline, and hand qualified opportunities to the Solution Specialist for pursuit.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by proactively uncovering customer pain points and working with partners to develop solutions and business cases for technical leaders.
- Represent the voice of the customer by sharing insights and best practices with Global Black Belt teams and Engineering to remove blockers and improve products.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR 7+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Global collaboration is integral to our work at Microsoft, and proficiency in English is essential for effective communication in this role.
- In addition to the previous requirement, due to the role's core responsabilities, proficiency in Spanish is also required.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- 8+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
- Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture, Azure VMware Solution).
- Experience using partner solutions to address customer needs and scale opportunities.
- Experience creating proofs of concept or pilots for migrating and modernizing legacy on-premises systems-including Databases, Oracle, VMware, networking, and storage-that lead to production deployments.
