Full Stack Engineer - Backend

As a Full Stack Developer or Tech Lead on the Data Fabric team, you will work on building and evolving a modern data platform that enables access, integration, and transformation of enterprise data assets. You’ll be responsible for developing scalable back-end services and well-structured front-end interfaces to deliver a robust platform experience.

The role combines ~75% back-end and ~25% front-end development, offering opportunities to build data-driven APIs, microservices, and event-driven data flows while working closely with global teams and architects.

Requirements

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices serving enterprise-scale data use cases.
• Implement API gateways, data integration layers, and automation pipelines within cloud-native environments.
• Build and optimise user interfaces supporting the Data Fabric portal and internal tools.
• Engage in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design decisions, ensuring consistency and quality across modules.
• Participate in end-to-end solution design - from data model through service implementation to front-end integration.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, and Product Managers to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Contribute to event-driven stream processing solutions using technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
• For Tech Lead role: set technical direction, mentor engineers, enforce best practices and secure integration of data services within enterprise systems.

Benefits

• 5 + years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer or similar role.
• Backend: Strong experience in object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, Scala) and building distributed systems.
• Frontend: Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React and/or TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience with REST / GraphQL APIs, microservices, containers (Docker / Kubernetes).
• Exposure to data engineering concepts, especially with Spark or event-driven processing environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks and DevOps tooling (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins or GitLab).
• Strong grasp of data management, security and integration principles.
• Experience working within large-scale organisations and collaborating with global teams.
• Communicative and collaborative by nature, with a good command of English (spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Background in Data Strategy, Data Governance, or Enterprise Integration projects.
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead in cross-functional or distributed teams.
