MKS

MKS Instruments is an American company founded in 1961 that makes the instruments, subsystems and process control equipment inside semiconductor manufacturing tools, which means it sells mainly to the equipment makers rather than to chip fabs directly. Its portfolio covers vacuum and pressure measurement, gas and liquid delivery, power supplies, lasers and photonics, and, since the Atotech acquisition, the chemistry used in advanced packaging and printed circuit board plating. Headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts and listed on Nasdaq, it carries substantial debt from that acquisition and is exposed to the semiconductor equipment cycle at one remove.
