SDE 3 - Java

We are looking for a highly skilled Java SDE 3 to join our engineering team. This role requires strong backend development expertise, an ownership mindset, and the ability to build scalable, high-performance systems, preferably in a fintech or high-transaction environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and optimise high-throughput, low-latency services (microservices architecture).
• Work on payment systems, transaction flows, or financial integrations.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive system design, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Ensure best practices in coding, testing, security, and performance optimisation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of strong experience in Java backend development.
• Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL, like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of distributed systems, caching (Redis), and messaging queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Good to Have:

• Prior experience in Fintech / Payments / Lending / Banking systems.
• Exposure to high-volume transaction systems.
• Understanding of security, compliance (PCI-DSS), and financial data handling.
• Experience in event-driven architecture.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Passion for building scalable and reliable systems.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
