Job description:

Mobileum's Roaming and Security solutions run inside the signaling networks of mobile operators worldwide. They grew on different timelines and technology stacks, and now share customers, signaling paths, and data. We are hiring an Enterprise Architect - Product Engineering to set the architectural direction for this portfolio: the target-state architecture, the shared platforms, and the standards every product builds on. This is a product and portfolio architecture role, not an IT or business-process EA role. It is a senior individual-contributor position for someone with the engineering depth to challenge designs and the telecom knowledge to engage operator CTOs.

Roles & Responsibility:

• Define the target-state architecture and multi-year roadmap across Roaming and Security, including build, buy, reuse, and retire decisions backed by clear business cases.
• Run architecture governance through principles, reference architectures, capability maps, transition architectures, and standards for APIs, data, security, observability, and deployment.
• Set platform and integration strategy, covering shared capabilities, cloud-native deployment models, TM Forum ODA and Open APIs, network API exposure through CAMARA and GSMA Open Gateway, and the 4G-to-5G SA evolution path.
• Own data architecture and governance for subscriber and signaling data across products and jurisdictions.
• Lead AI and agentic AI strategy and governance across the portfolio, including shared AI platforms, guardrails, and autonomy policies.
• Lead architecture for strategic customer deals and engage operator CTO, architecture, and security teams on long-term technical direction.
• Stay accountable for outcomes after go-live, reviewing major incidents for architectural root causes and feeding the lessons back into standards.
• Mentor System Architects and senior engineers and raise the quality of architecture practice across engineering.

What You Will Bring:

Enterprise architecture strategy and methods:

Portfolio-level architecture, target-state and roadmap definition, and business case development. Hands-on with EA methods, including capability mapping, transition architectures, ArchiMate modelling, and architecture repositories.

Architecture governance:

Ability to build an architecture practice that guides teams rather than slowing them down, including principles, review forums, decision records, and fitness checks.

Industry frameworks and standards:

Working experience with TM Forum ODA and Open APIs and the TM Forum Autonomous Networks framework, along with GSMA and 3GPP standards. Familiarity with network API exposure through CAMARA and GSMA Open Gateway.

Telecom domain and 5G evolution:

Strong knowledge of roaming, steering, and signaling security, with fluency in SS7, Diameter, GTP, SIP, 4G EPC, and 5G SA (SEPP, N32, UDM), and an understanding of how operators buy, deploy, and run network and security solutions.

Engineering depth and platform architecture:

Solid engineering background in Core Java, microservices, Kafka-based event-driven systems, and API design. Cloud-native architecture on Kubernetes/OpenShift, hybrid cloud, and multi-tenant SaaS models.

Data, security, and compliance:

Telecom security architecture and standards (GSMA FS.11, FS.19, FS.20, 3GPP), data privacy regulation (GDPR, DPDP), and data residency requirements.

AI strategy and governance:

Practical AI/ML and GenAI experience, with a clear view of how to govern AI in production systems: guardrails, evaluation, auditability, and the TM Forum Autonomous Networks levels (L0-L5). Deep research expertise is not required.

Executive engagement and ownership of outcomes:

Credibility with operator CTOs, the ability to influence engineering, product, and business leaders without direct authority, and accountability for how architecture performs in production.

Desired Profile:

• 16-20+ years in software engineering, including 7+ years in solution or enterprise architecture for carrier-grade telecom products
• Proven record of defining and delivering multi-product architecture strategy and governance
• Working experience applying TM Forum ODA and Open APIs
• Experience representing architecture with senior customer stakeholders and in strategic deals
• Practical exposure to AI/ML or GenAI capabilities

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
• 5G SA and network security architecture
• Experience rationalizing platforms across product lines or after acquisitions
• Agentic AI strategy and governance
• Participation in GSMA, 3GPP, or TM Forum working groups

How You Will Work:

You will report into Engineering leadership and work with product, engineering, presales, and business leaders across the Roaming and Security portfolios. System Architects will look to you for standards and target-state direction, and you will rely on them to turn that direction into working system designs.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field; an MBA is a plus.
