Senior Software Architect (m/f/d) Industrial AI & Automation

We're looking for a Senior Software Architect (m/f/d) to join our Industrial AI & Automation Business Unit. We enable factories to think and act through software, data, and physical automation. Recent projects include a Factory Intelligence Hub, AI-assisted engineering automation, and MES/IIoT platforms. You'll design the software architecture for these kinds of projects, then execute the delivery with an interdisciplinary team, building large and small applications across a wide range of technologies.

Your Role

• Design and build complex fullstack systems with data & AI integrations prom PoC through to production systems
• Lead technical discovery with clients by facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, assessing the current state, and defining target architectures together with business, data, and IT stakeholders
• Select the right tech stack based on industry standards and client constraints, and own the path from architecture to hands-on implementation
• Design and develop architectures and data products for industrial and business environments, including the underlying infrastructure that makes them work reliably
• Deliver features while supporting the teams through code reviews, architecture guidance, and mentoring for (junior) engineers on AI & data topics
• Contribute to shaping the Business Unit: from sales support (scoping, proposals, technical conversations) to improving how we build and deliver as a team

Your Profile

• University degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, etc.) with at least 5+ years of industry experience
• Strong foundation in software engineering, with extensive hands on experience designing, building and shipping production-ready systems using emerging technologies
• Practical experience and domain knowledge in fields such as logistics, production, robotics, defense, or similar industrial and enterprise contexts
• Confident communicator who can work confidently with both technical and business stakeholders, with a strong command of both German and English
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development
• Motivated to proactively explore and learn new technologies, to find the optimal solution for every client challenge, with a continuous drive to learn
