Motive is an American company founded in 2013, originally as KeepTruckin, that sells fleet management technology to trucking, construction, agriculture and field service businesses. Its products combine electronic logging devices mandated by American regulation, AI dashcams that detect unsafe driving, vehicle and equipment tracking, and a spend management card, which together turn a compliance purchase into an operating platform. Headquartered in San Francisco and valued in the billions, it serves tens of thousands of fleets and competes with Samsara for customers whose margins are thin enough that fuel and insurance savings matter directly.

Who we are:

Motive empowers the people who run physical operations with tools to make their work safer, more productive, and more profitable. For the first time ever, safety, operations and finance teams can manage their drivers, vehicles, equipment, and fleet related spend in a single system. Combined with industry leading AI, the Motive platform gives you complete visibility and control, and significantly reduces manual workloads by automating and simplifying tasks.

Motive serves nearly 100,000 customers - from Fortune 500 enterprises to small businesses - across a wide range of industries, including transportation and logistics, construction, energy, field service, manufacturing, agriculture, food and beverage, retail, and the public sector.

Role:

Senior Billing Specialist - PK

About the Role:

As a Senior Billing Specialist, you will own accurate and timely billing operations. You will serve as a key escalation point for billing-related issues across the quote-to-cash process, independently investigating discrepancies, coordinating cross-functional resolution, and ensuring that billing adjustments are complete, accurate, and properly documented.

This role combines day-to-day billing execution with operational controls, reconciliation, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. Success requires strong judgment, attention to detail, clear documentation, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee account billing status and the complete billing cycle by researching and resolving inconsistencies, reviewing billing documents and data for accuracy and completeness, clearing lender requirements, and completing accurate, timely invoicing.
  • Create Vendor Finance funding invoices for each lender, escalate documentation discrepancies, and resolve tax issues, lender fee issues, and funding invoice adjustments.
  • Support Enterprise billing by reviewing complex contracts, validating pricing and terms, and coordinating custom invoices and billing schedules for strategic accounts.
  • Manage card and ACH chargebacks end to end, including intake, investigation, evidence preparation, representation, deadline tracking, and outcome booking in accordance with network, bank, and Motive requirements.
  • Manage cancellations, early terminations, refunds, credits, write-offs, and held-to-contract fees in accordance with policy, approval requirements, and documented controls.
  • Perform billing audits and reconciliations, including invoice-to-usage reviews, general ledger tie-outs, and partner funding files; support month-end close, period cutoff, SOX-compliant audit trails, and timely resolution of findings.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Account Management, Order Management, Accounting, Tax, Payments, and vendor operations to resolve support cases, fulfill sales orders, maintain system data integrity, and improve billing processes through root-cause analysis and accurate reporting.

Your Background That Likely Makes You A Match:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in billing, payments, accounts receivable, finance operations, or a related function
  • Hands-on experience managing enterprise billing, invoice generation, refunds, credits, chargebacks, payment disputes, cancellations, reconciliations, or similar high-volume operations.
  • Strong understanding of billing operations, payment flows, refunds, credits, cancellations, account reconciliation, and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate complex issues, assess risk, exercise sound judgment, and drive work to resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a high standard for documentation accuracy and cross-functional follow-through.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including reconciliations and large operational datasets; comfortable working with spreadsheets, internet-based business applications, and ERP systems, with experience in Zuora, Salesforce, payment processors, or similar platforms strongly preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS, fintech, payments, or a high-growth technology environment is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Availability to work US business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Pakistan Time, with occasional month-end or quarter-end coverage as needed.

Creating a diverse and inclusive workplace is one of Motive's core values. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives.
