Job Summary:

• To provide strategic leadership for the end-to-end delivery of technology-enabled change by aligning business demand with enterprise priorities, governing a strategically prioritised IT portfolio, and ensuring the timely, cost-effective and value-driven implementation of digital and technology solutions.
• The role is accountable for improving customer experience, strengthening business performance and leading Platform Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Business Process Management, and Software Engineering. It will also drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed, solution quality, security, developer experience and cost efficiency.
• The role is responsible for adoption and implementation of more agile ways of working via a new operating model, based on Tribes, Chapters and Scrum teams to enhance the delivery of solutions for commercial and other functions across the business.

Tasks

1.
Technology Delivery & Portfolio Management

• Lead the delivery of MTN Ghana’s technology and digital transformation portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities, customer needs, and strategic objectives.
• Drive effective demand management, portfolio governance, prioritization, and value realization across technology initiatives.

2.
Engineering Excellence & Digital Transformation

• Provide leadership for software engineering, platform engineering, and enterprise technology delivery.
• Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps, automation, AI-enabled delivery, and continuous improvement.

3.
Agile Operating Model & Organizational Effectiveness

• Lead the implementation and optimization of agile ways of working across technology teams.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and high-performing product and delivery teams.

4.
Risk, Governance & Operational Resilience

• Ensure technology delivery is executed in line with security, compliance, quality, risk, and resilience standards.
• Provide oversight of delivery assurance, governance frameworks, and operational readiness for business-critical solutions.

5.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build and lead a high-performing technology delivery organization that promotes innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Partner with business leaders, vendors, and key stakeholders to achieve sustainable business outcomes and enhance customer experience.

Education

• First degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related discipline
• Postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or technology-related master’s degree, is required
• Relevant certifications in agile/product management, programme or portfolio management, cloud, DevSecOps or software engineering are advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive technology experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
• Demonstrated accountability for complex, enterprise-scale technology portfolios and software or digital delivery
• Practical success implementing agile operating models, product-centric delivery, DevSecOps and engineering transformation
• Experience using or scaling AI-assisted software engineering with appropriate governance and measurable outcomes
• Strong commercial, financial, sourcing and partner-management experience
• Telecommunications, financial services, digital platforms or another regulated, high-availability industry is strongly preferred
• Experience working across diverse cultures, geographies and matrix organisations is advantageous

Professional/Technical Competencies:

• Strong understanding of technology strategy, portfolio management, and value realization.
• Proven leadership in complex technology delivery, programme management, and business transformation initiatives.
• Experience in modern software engineering, digital platforms, systems integration, and cloud-enabled delivery.
• Knowledge of agile delivery methodologies and product-centric operating models.
• Understanding of technology governance, risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, and operational resilience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and strategic partnership capabilities.
• Sound commercial and financial acumen with the ability to balance innovation, value, and business outcomes.
• Experience driving technology innovation and continuous improvement through emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
