Senior Storage Migration Engineer / Architect
Location: Singapore
Employment Type: 12-month contract, renewable subject to project requirements and performance
Salary: Up to S$10,000 per month, depending on experience
Security Requirement: Existing CAT 1 security clearance is mandatory, subject to verification and client acceptance.
About the Role
Millennium Technology Services is seeking an experienced Senior Storage Migration Engineer / Architect to support enterprise storage migration projects involving Pure Storage solutions.
The successful candidate will take technical ownership of migration assessment, planning, design and execution, working closely with customers, infrastructure teams and technology partners to ensure data integrity and minimise business disruption. This role requires strong hands-on delivery experience alongside the ability to develop and explain migration designs.
Key Responsibilities
Assess existing storage environments, including capacity, performance, connectivity, application dependencies and migration readiness.
Develop migration strategies and technical designs for transitioning workloads from existing enterprise storage platforms to Pure Storage solutions.
Prepare detailed migration plans, runbooks, implementation procedures, validation checks and rollback plans.
Configure and validate source and target storage environments, including SAN connectivity, host mappings, multipathing and replication where applicable.
Execute storage migrations, coordinate cutover activities and troubleshoot issues across storage, host, virtualisation and SAN layers.
Work with application owners and infrastructure teams to agree migration sequencing, dependencies, downtime windows and acceptance criteria.
Validate data integrity, application accessibility and storage performance following migration.
Identify technical risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures throughout the migration lifecycle.
Lead technical discussions with customers and project stakeholders, providing clear progress updates and recommendations.
Complete technical documentation, knowledge transfer and handover to operations teams.
Follow customer security, access control and change management requirements.
Support scheduled migration and cutover activities outside normal business hours when required.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
At least 7 years of relevant enterprise infrastructure or storage experience, including substantial hands-on storage migration delivery.
Proven experience independently planning and executing enterprise storage migrations, including cutover, validation and rollback preparation.
Strong knowledge of enterprise block storage, SAN architecture, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, LUN provisioning, zoning and host multipathing.
Hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE or Hitachi.
Experience supporting storage connectivity and migration activities across VMware, Windows and Linux environments.
Ability to assess application dependencies, troubleshoot complex migration issues and manage technical risks.
Strong customer-facing communication, technical documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.
Must hold existing CAT 1 security clearance. Appointment and project access are subject to clearance verification and client acceptance.
Preferred Experience
Experience migrating workloads from multiple storage vendors to Pure Storage.
Familiarity with host-based, array-based and virtualisation-based migration methods and tools.
Experience with Pure Storage replication and protection capabilities.
Experience with file storage migration, including NFS and SMB environments.
Relevant Pure Storage, VMware, SAN or other enterprise storage certifications.
