Company and Job Description:

A growing South African organisation is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its finance team in Sandton.

This is a broad and hands-on role covering financial control, compliance, collections and operational finance, with the opportunity to work closely with the COO and gain exposure to wider business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day financial control function
Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
Manage general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee accounts receivable and collections processes
Monitor outstanding debtors and drive collection performance
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Manage financial compliance and reporting requirements
Liaise with legal and operational stakeholders on finance-related matters
Monitor financial controls and identify areas for improvement
Support budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
Prepare financial analysis and reporting for senior management
Work closely with the COO on operational and financial matters
Provide financial insights to support business decision-making
Identify opportunities to improve finance and operational processes
Assist with audits and ensure appropriate supporting documentation
Monitor financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective action

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Qualification:

BCom Accounting, Finance or related degree

Experience:

Minimum 10 years' relevant finance experience
Strong financial control experience
Exposure to collections and operational finance
Compliance and statutory reporting experience
Experience working closely with senior operational leadership
Legal/commercial exposure advantageous

Technical Skills:

Financial reporting
Management accounting
Financial controls
Debtors and collections
Compliance
Advanced Excel
Accounting/ERP systems
