Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and development to deployment and performance optimisation. You'll work on complex systems that demand reliability, scalability, and innovation, while helping shape engineering standards and mentoring fellow developers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications
• Lead complex technical initiatives from planning through to deployment
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to build customer-focused solutions
• Develop and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs and integrations
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Optimise data models and database performance for high-volume transactional systems
• Build clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Contribute to deployment pipelines, infrastructure, and developer tooling
• Support production environments through troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Mentor developers and contribute to engineering best practices
• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development workflows where appropriate

• Education: Relevant Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field advantageous
• Experience:
• Minimum 6 years' professional software development experience
• Extensive hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments
• Experience building large-scale, customer-facing applications
• Experience mentoring and supporting other software engineers
