A well-established technology-driven organisation is seeking an experienced ICT Engineer II to join its Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving critical IT infrastructure platforms to ensure optimal performance, security, availability, and business continuity across multiple operational environments.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure specialist who enjoys working across networking, virtualisation, security, cloud services, backup solutions, and enterprise platforms. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Virtualisation

• Administer and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments, including VMware vSphere.
• Support compute, storage, and networking platforms.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, optimisation, and maintenance.
• Ensure resilient and scalable infrastructure solutions aligned to business requirements.

Network & Security

• Manage and support MikroTik networking environments.
• Administer Palo Alto firewall platforms, VPNs, and security policies.
• Monitor and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless, and multi-site network environments.
• Support network security initiatives and best-practice implementation.

Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity

• Maintain backup and recovery solutions.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Support business continuity initiatives and infrastructure recoverability.

Cloud & Identity Services

• Support cloud-based services and identity management platforms.
• Manage DNS, certificates, access control, and externally facing services.
• Ensure secure and compliant cloud operations.

Operational Support

• Act as an escalation point for infrastructure, networking, and security-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives and projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements
Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry certifications will be advantageous.

Experience

• 5-7 years' experience in enterprise ICT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration.
• Proven experience with:
• VMware vSphere
• MikroTik networking technologies
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Enterprise infrastructure environments

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Networking and security technologies
• Virtualisation platforms
• Storage and backup solutions
• Disaster recovery and business continuity
• Infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting multi-site environments.
• Exposure to automation and infrastructure management tools.
