Electrical designer

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Designer with strong EPLAN proficiency to join an established engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs, preparing technical drawings, and supporting the engineering process from initial concept through to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.

This role is ideal for a technically strong individual with excellent electrical design capabilities, attention to detail, and experience producing accurate, high-quality engineering documentation using EPLAN.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Designer with strong EPLAN proficiency to join an established engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs, preparing technical drawings, and supporting the engineering process from initial concept through to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual with excellent electrical design capabilities, attention to detail, and experience producing accurate, high-quality engineering documentation using EPLAN. Key Responsibilities Develop and produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical control drawings using EPLAN. Design electrical control panels, distribution boards, and control systems in accordance with project specifications. Prepare electrical layouts, cable schedules, terminal plans, bills of materials (BOMs), and associated engineering documentation. Interpret electrical specifications, functional requirements, and engineering drawings. Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and applicable electrical regulations. Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, panel builders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Incorporate design changes and maintain accurate drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Assist with component selection, cable sizing, circuit protection, and the specification of electrical equipment. Support manufacturing and panel-building teams by providing technical clarification and resolving design-related queries. Conduct design reviews and quality checks to ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding activities when required. Maintain organised engineering documentation and ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed deadlines. Minimum Requirements A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related technical discipline. Demonstrable proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 . Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed electrical engineering drawings. Good understanding of electrical control systems, electrical components, and control panel design. Ability to interpret electrical standards, technical specifications, and engineering documentation. Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to electrical design. Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills.
