POSITION INFO:
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled Senior Electronic Embedded Engineer to join a technology-driven engineering environment focused on the design, development and integration of advanced electronic and embedded systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing embedded hardware and firmware solutions, contributing to the full product development lifecycle, and ensuring that electronic systems meet demanding performance, reliability and quality requirements. This position is suited to an experienced engineer with strong electronic design capabilities, embedded software development expertise and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and integrate embedded electronic systems, including hardware and firmware. Develop, test and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers and other embedded platforms. Perform electronic circuit design, component selection, schematic capture and PCB design or review. Develop firmware in C and\/or C++ for embedded applications. Work with microcontrollers, processors, communication interfaces and peripheral devices. Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, fault-finding and system-level troubleshooting. Perform verification, validation and testing to ensure product functionality, performance and reliability. Integrate electronic hardware, embedded firmware, sensors and communication modules. Analyse technical problems and implement effective engineering solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Produce and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, test procedures and engineering reports. Support prototype development, product optimisation and the transition from development into production. Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where required. Minimum Requirements BEng, BSc Eng or equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Significant experience in electronic hardware design and embedded systems development. Strong programming skills in embedded C and\/or C++. Experience working with microcontrollers, embedded processors and peripheral interfaces. Solid understanding of electronic circuit design, digital electronics and analogue electronics. Experience with hardware debugging, firmware development, integration and system testing. Ability to interpret schematics, datasheets, technical specifications and engineering documentation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Advantageous Experience PCB design and electronic CAD tools. Experience with ARM Cortex-M, STM32 or similar microcontroller platforms. Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, USB or Ethernet. Experience with RTOS-based embedded systems. Familiarity with hardware debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analysers and debugging probes. Experience with hardware-software integration, system verification and validation. Knowledge of bootloaders, device drivers, low-level firmware and power management. Experience with EMC\/EMI considerations, electronic product compliance and environmental testing. Exposure to industrial, mining, automotive, defence, aerospace or other technically demanding applications. Experience taking electronic products from concept and prototyping through to production. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced Electronic Engineer who combines strong hardware design knowledge with practical embedded firmware development experience. You should be comfortable working across the complete embedded systems development lifecycle, from initial concept and circuit design through firmware development, integration, testing and product refinement. You will bring a hands-on engineering approach, sound technical judgement and the ability to develop reliable, high-performance electronic solutions for complex real-world applications.
