We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Engineer to join our engineering team and work on large-scale backend systems. The role requires strong expertise in Java, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven technologies. You will drive technical design, solve complex engineering challenges, and help build scalable, reliable, and high-performance platforms.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and modern engineering practices.
Own architecture, technical design, and implementation of complex systems.
Build and optimise microservices-based applications and distributed platforms.
Work with technologies such as Kafka, cloud platforms, and modern development frameworks.
Drive engineering best practices around coding standards, performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products and solutions.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
Contribute to AI-driven initiatives and emerging technology projects.

Requirements:

13-18+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend development expertise.
Strong programming skills in Java and experience building enterprise-grade applications.
Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and API design.
Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
Experience with system design, architecture discussions, and technical ownership.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex engineering challenges.
Experience working in product-based organisations is preferred.
Exposure to AI/ML-driven products or projects is a plus.
