NTT DATA is looking for high-achieving team players that are quickly adaptable to new challenges and entrepreneurial ventures. We are looking for a Senior AWS Solutions Architect to design and help build cloud-native solutions supporting customer-facing digital applications. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position rather than a governance-only or purely advisory architecture role working 100% onsite in LATAM with our global client working EST hours.  

Rate Range: $50-57/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AWS architectures for customer-facing and customer-support applications, balancing scalability, resilience, security, performance, and cost.
• Build proofs of concept, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Contribute production-quality code for foundational components, integrations, and infrastructure when needed.
• Design and implement serverless, microservices, and event-driven solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions.
• Define API contracts and integration patterns across digital channels, backend platforms, and third-party systems.
• Establish synchronous, asynchronous, pub/sub, and queue-based integration approaches.
• Review code and technical designs, validate engineering decisions, and guide development teams through implementation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across applications, integrations, infrastructure, and production environments.
• Apply AWS security and IAM best practices, including least-privilege access, secrets management, encryption, identity management, and secure network design.
• Define and support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code to enable automated, repeatable, and secure deployments.
• Design logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
• Support production incident analysis and continuous improvements related to availability, performance, and operational resilience.
• Present architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including international engineering and business teams.
• Create and maintain clear, practical architecture documentation.
• Collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams that include Product Owners, developers, QA professionals, and DevOps engineers

Required Qualifications:

Professional Experience

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.

• At least 4 years of experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS.

• Demonstrated experience as a hands-on architect embedded within delivery teams.

• Proven ability to take technical solutions from initial design through implementation and production deployment.

• Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable customer-facing applications.

• Ability to read, review, and write production-quality code

AWS Architecture

• Deep knowledge of core AWS services, including:
  • Compute
  • Storage
  • VPC networking
  • Databases
  • Messaging services
• Experience applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience designing Multi-AZ, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions. 

Serverless, APIs, and Microservices

• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda.
• Experience with Amazon API Gateway, including REST and HTTP APIs.
• Strong knowledge of serverless architecture patterns and trade-offs, including cold starts, concurrency, timeouts, and cost.
• Experience designing microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience defining API contracts and scalable integration patterns.

Integration and Event-Driven Architecture

• Hands-on experience with Amazon EventBridge, SQS, and SNS.
• Experience using AWS Step Functions for orchestration.
• Strong understanding of the following integration patterns:
  • Publish/subscribe
  • Queue-based decoupling
  • Retries
  • Idempotency
  • Dead-letter handling
  • Synchronous and asynchronous integrations.

Security and Identity

• Experience designing IAM policies and roles using least-privilege principles.
• Experience with Amazon Cognito or equivalent identity solutions.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with AWS KMS, AWS Secrets Manager, and AWS WAF.
• Knowledge of encryption, secrets management, and secure network design. 

Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using at least one of the following:
  • AWS CDK
  • AWS CloudFormation
  • Terraform
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
  • GitHub Actions
  • GitLab CI
  • Jenkins
  • AWS CodePipeline
• Experience with Git-based workflows and automated testing practices.

Containers and Observability

• Experience with Docker and containerized workloads.
• Experience with Amazon ECS or AWS Fargate.
• Experience with Amazon CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray.
• Familiarity with one or more observability tools, such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana. 

Programming

Hands-on proficiency in at least one of the following:

• TypeScript or Node.js
• Python
• Java
