Junior Financial Analyst - Temporal

Location: San José, Costa Rica

Contract Length: 3 months 

Contract Rate: 500,000 colones

NTT DATA is seeking a detail-oriented Spreading Analyst to join a Financial Spreading & Analysis team supporting transaction services. The role is responsible for independently reviewing and analyzing complex client financial statements, accurately spreading financial data into internal systems, preparing standardized analyses, and supporting portfolio and origination teams with financial data and risk-system matters. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical judgment, precision, client orientation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. 

Responsibilities:  

• Independently review, analyze, and spread complex client financial statements into internal systems with a high level of accuracy. 
• Prepare, validate, and maintain standardized financial analyses and templates for different client segments. 
• Ensure assigned project portfolios remain current, complete, consistent, and compliant with internal requirements and established service timelines. 
• Serve as a key point of contact for portfolio and origination officers on financial spreading, financial data, and internal risk-system matters. 
• Investigate and resolve complex issues involving financial information, spreading classifications, data quality, and system outputs. 
• Handle special requests related to financial spreading, portfolio information, and internal financial or risk tools. 
• Assist with the testing, documentation, and implementation of new or enhanced financial and risk tools. 
• Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen quality, consistency, efficiency, and controls. 
• Support team strategy, continuous-improvement initiatives, and cross-functional coordination. 
• Provide day-to-day guidance and knowledge support to junior analysts when required. 
• Collaborate with other team specialties to keep portfolio projects updated in accordance with organizational requirements. 

Required Experience:  

• At least two years of relevant experience in the middle or back office of a financial institution, or in a comparable financial-analysis or transaction-support environment. 
• Experience processing, analyzing, or administering transactions involving one or more of the following: project finance, corporate lending, financial institutions, trade and supply chain finance, international guarantees, or letters of credit. 
• Demonstrated experience reviewing financial statements and working with structured financial data, standardized templates, and internal systems. 
• Intermediate to advanced English and fluent Spanish, both spoken and written. 
• High attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work within tight deadlines. 
• Strong planning, organization, communication, customer-service, and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks. 
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams. 
• Client-oriented approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and respond promptly and professionally. 
• Ability to identify issues, propose practical solutions, and contribute to process innovation. 

Nice-to-Have:  

• Working knowledge of Portuguese or French. 
• Experience supporting project-finance, corporate, trade-finance, or development-finance portfolios. 
• Experience testing or implementing financial-analysis, workflow, or risk-management tools. 
• Exposure to process improvement, quality assurance, automation, or data-validation initiatives. 

Tools & Technologies:  

Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

Experience with financial spreading platforms, credit or risk systems, portfolio-management tools, or comparable internal financial applications. 

Ability to work with standardized financial-analysis templates, data-quality controls, and structured documentation repositories. 

Education & Certifications:  

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another related field. 

Relevant coursework or professional development in financial statement analysis, credit analysis, banking, risk management, or corporate finance is preferred. 

Required Equipment:  

This role requires the use of a personal laptop. Candidates must be comfortable with company security software and device management tools being installed on their laptop as part of the onboarding process and for the duration of the engagement.
