nVent is an electrical connection and protection company spun out of Pentair in 2018 that makes enclosures, thermal management, cable management and connection products for industrial, commercial and data centre customers. Its most consequential business has become thermal management for data centres: liquid cooling for high-density computing racks, where artificial intelligence accelerators generate more heat per rack than air can remove. Headquartered in London for tax and legal purposes with operations centred in Minnesota, it is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has been reshaping its portfolio around electrification and data centre demand.

We’re looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

nVent is seeking an Accounts Receivable Associate to support deduction management, dispute resolution, and cost recovery activities. This role requires strong investigative and communication skills to research account issues, evaluate supporting documentation, partner with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely resolution of customer deductions and disputes.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Handle customer deductions, disputes, cost recoveries, and documentation requests for more complex accounts, ensuring timely resolution and clear, professional communication with customers and distributors.

  • Apply customer payments and perform cash application activities with a high level of accuracy, including matching payments, recording deductions, and ensuring compliant AR postings across multiple payment methods.

  • Reconcile bank statements to ERP and general ledger accounts, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies in partnership with Finance and GL teams.

  • Take ownership of specific customer issues, serving as a point of escalation and providing appropriate, timely solutions to support customer satisfaction and cash flow objectives.

  • Review, analyze, and resolve deduction and cost recovery issues, evaluating disputes based on order details, product circumstances, pricing agreements, and policy requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Credit to ensure claims and disputes are thoroughly reviewed and resolved prior to settlement.

  • Support and mentor newer team members, providing guidance on complex accounts, deductions, and processes to ensure timely and accurate resolution.

  • Prepare AR reports to support month-end close, including aging, revenue status, deductions, targets, and ad-hoc analyses for month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and audit requirements.

  • Participate in operational improvement and automation initiatives within the Transactional Services teams to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Contribute to acquisition integration activities, supporting the alignment of AR processes, customer data, and controls for newly acquired entities.

  • Maintain compliance with nVent policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations, while supporting audits and internal control requirements.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • 1+ year of experience in Finance or Accounting, preferably in Accounts Receivable, Cost Recovery, Deductions Management, Credit Management, Collections, Cash Application, or Customer Support.

  • Experience researching and resolving customer deductions, account discrepancies, reconciliations, or other complex AR issues.

  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable of investigating discrepancies, evaluating supporting documentation, and identifying appropriate resolutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF, COUNTIF, and data analysis techniques).

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing customer accounts and financial data.

  • Proactive approach with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, work independently, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve account-related issues and disputes.
