Software Engineer, Robotics - Isaac Lab

We are seeking a software engineer to join the Isaac Labteam and propel our flagship platform for robot learning to new heights. Our mission is to become the industry's leading tool, redefining how autonomous systems are trained and shaping the future of robotics and AI.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop and extend physics simulation APIs for robotics learning, including contacts, joints, sensors, and actuation models.

• Debug and resolve simulation instability, non physical behavior, and determinism issues in complex robotic systems.

• Serve as a primary technical contact for users and customers, triaging issues from GitHub, external partners and internal teams.

• Translate research ideas and physics models into robust, user facing APIs.

• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and contribute to internal and open-source software.

• Engage with the robotics industrial and research communities.

What we need to see:

• BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

• Extensive experience in software development with Pythonand the deep learning software stack (Pytorch, Tensorflow, Jax, etc.).

• Strong background in rigid body dynamics, deformable simulation, physics simulation, or robotics control.

• 3 years experience in robotics and simulationworkflows, including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, motion planning, and trajectory optimization.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Prior experience with Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Isaac Gym, or Mujoco.

• Experience supporting users or maintaining open source simulation projects.

• Publications in major AI and robotics conferences.
