Data Platform Delivery Director

ROLE MANDATE

Build and lead the delivery system that turns NXP enterprise data foundations into trusted, reusable Gold data products. The Director owns a multi-team Foundation delivery organization and orchestrates a federated network of business-domain Gold delivery teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and other domains. The role is accountable for predictable delivery, end-to-end integration, and cross-domain harmonization so that Gold products work as one enterprise data ecosystem rather than as isolated domain solutions.

Role Overview

The Data Platform Delivery Director is responsible for the delivery and evolution of NXP's One Data Platform and the operating model that connects enterprise Foundation capabilities with business-owned Gold data products. This leader manages approximately six delivery teams, typically five to six members each, spanning data engineering, platform engineering, data management, product delivery, and platform operations. The role also coordinates multiple business-side Gold delivery teams that operate as federated spokes and may sit outside the Director's direct reporting line.

Success requires equal strength in scaled delivery leadership, enterprise data architecture, product operating models, and influence across organizational boundaries. The Director establishes clear release contracts from Foundation to Gold, aligns sequencing and dependencies among teams, and ensures that data products created by individual domains conform to shared enterprise standards, canonical definitions, and interoperability requirements.

Accountability

Direct delivery leadership

Lead approximately six Foundation and platform delivery teams of five to six members each, with accountability for capacity, priorities, execution quality, talent development, and delivery outcomes.

Federated domain orchestration

Coordinate business-side Gold delivery teams across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and additional domains through common planning, governance, architecture, and release mechanisms.

Hub-and-spoke model

Operate the central Foundation organization as the hub that delivers reusable platform capabilities, certified source data, controls, and services. Enable domain teams as spokes that design, build, and own their Gold data products.

Enterprise harmonization

Ensure Gold data products are consistent and interoperable across domains, including shared business definitions, keys, master and reference data, conformed dimensions, quality rules, lineage, and reusable patterns.

Portfolio and dependency management

Maintain an integrated roadmap across Foundation and Gold portfolios, resolve cross-team dependencies, manage delivery risks, and align releases to business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a Scaled, Multi-Team Delivery Organization

  • Provide leadership for approximately six delivery teams, generally five to six members per team, covering the Foundation data layer, platform services, data engineering, data management enablement, and operations.
  • Establish a multi-team delivery cadence with clear product ownership, planning horizons, capacity management, dependency tracking, quality gates, release readiness, and transparent outcome reporting.
  • Create an environment of strong engineering discipline, accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across global teams and locations.
  • Develop delivery leaders and technical talent, clarify decision rights, and ensure the organization has the skills and capacity required to meet the enterprise roadmap.

2. Establish the Hub-and-Spoke Data Product Delivery Model

  • Design and operationalize a hub-and-spoke model in which the central Foundation organization provides reusable platform capabilities, data ingestion, certified foundational data, common services, controls, and enablement to business-domain Gold teams.
  • Define the engagement model between the Foundation hub and domain spokes, including intake, prioritization, funding alignment, architecture review, data contracts, service levels, release calendars, support boundaries, and escalation paths.
  • Enable Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business teams to develop and own Gold data products while ensuring they operate within an enterprise product lifecycle and federated governance model.
  • Balance domain autonomy with enterprise consistency, avoiding both centralized bottlenecks and fragmented, duplicative solutions.

3. Harmonize Gold Data Products Across Business Domains

  • Own the cross-domain harmonization process for Gold data products and ensure that products developed independently can be combined and consumed consistently across enterprise use cases.
  • Drive alignment on canonical business concepts, shared identifiers, conformed dimensions, master and reference data, semantic definitions, calculations, quality expectations, security classifications, and lineage requirements.
  • Identify and resolve conflicting definitions, overlapping products, duplicated transformations, and incompatible designs across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and other domains.
  • Establish reusable design patterns and a structured decision forum for cross-domain issues, with documented decisions, accountable owners, and clear exception handling.
  • Ensure Gold products are designed for broad consumption by analytics, AI services, agentic solutions, and operational applications.

4. Own Foundation-to-Gold Release Integration

  • Define and manage the release interface between Foundation capabilities and Gold data products, including versioned data contracts, readiness criteria, backward compatibility, dependency sequencing, testing, and release communications.
  • Maintain an integrated Foundation-to-Gold roadmap and release plan that makes dependencies, constraints, and business impacts visible across all participating teams.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing and production readiness across central and domain teams, including data quality, performance, security, observability, lineage, and operational support.
  • Ensure platform and Foundation releases are consumable by Gold teams with appropriate documentation, onboarding, reusable components, and engineering support.

5. Deliver and Evolve the One Data Platform

  • Lead the deployment and evolution of NXP's One Data Platform, including data storage and exchange, provisioning, platform operations, Databricks adoption, and self-service enablement.
  • Ensure the platform provides reliable and scalable capabilities for data products, analytics, AI, and data sharing, with appropriate security, performance, cost, and operational controls.
  • Curate the enabling technology portfolio and continuously improve delivery methods, automation, CI/CD, observability, and platform reliability.

6. Enable Data Management, Marketplace, and Governance

  • Enable enterprise capabilities for cataloging, metadata, lineage, asset registration, business glossary, ownership, stewardship, and data quality relationships.
  • Own the operational mechanisms for publishing, discovering, requesting, sharing, and supporting data products through the enterprise Data Marketplace.
  • Partner with Data Governance and Quality leadership so that governance policies are translated into executable platform controls, delivery checkpoints, product standards, and measurable compliance.
  • Advance Data Mesh principles, including domain ownership, data as a product, self-service infrastructure, federated governance, and open data architecture.

7. Manage Stakeholders, Portfolio, and Business Outcomes

  • Partner with senior leaders in Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, IT, Data Governance, Architecture, and business transformation teams to translate priorities into an executable, integrated portfolio.
  • Facilitate portfolio trade-offs based on enterprise value, readiness, dependencies, risk, capacity, and reuse potential.
  • Communicate delivery status, decisions, risks, and outcomes clearly to executive, business, and technical audiences.
  • Use outcome-oriented measures to improve predictability, adoption, reuse, data quality, time to value, platform reliability, and cross-domain consistency.

Decision Rights and Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the integrated delivery operating model, capacity deployment, execution standards, and release governance across the central delivery organization.
  • Accountable for Foundation-to-Gold integration and the mechanisms used to coordinate federated Gold delivery teams.
  • Accountable for cross-domain harmonization decisions and escalation of unresolved semantic, architectural, ownership, or delivery conflicts.
  • Authority to require remediation or formally approved exceptions when Gold products do not meet enterprise interoperability, quality, security, lineage, or operational standards.
  • Jointly accountable with domain owners for adoption and business value of Gold data products, while domain business owners remain accountable for domain priorities, definitions, and product outcomes.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 10-15 years of relevant experience, including leadership of multiple data, platform, software, or product delivery teams in a complex global enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a scaled delivery organization of approximately 30 or more professionals through managers, team leads, product owners, or matrix leadership.
  • Proven ability to coordinate federated teams that do not all report directly to the role and to align business and technology leaders around shared roadmaps, standards, and outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of modern enterprise data platforms, data engineering, cloud data architecture, Data Mesh, data products, metadata, lineage, data quality, semantic models, CI/CD, and platform operations.
  • Experience defining and operating product and release models across foundational data layers and business-consumption layers.
  • Ability to resolve cross-domain data definition and design conflicts using structured governance, architecture, and stakeholder decision processes.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is preferred.
