Larecherchereposesurleconceptd’unearchitecturedebatteriedistribuéeappelée«ACBattery»,quinécessiteunerefontefondamentaledel’architectureélectroniquedepuissanceduvéhicule.

L’objectif du stage est d’étudier de nouvelles solutions de convertisseurs isolés capables d’interfacer cette architecture de batterie avec le réseau électrique 48 V du véhicule.

Une attention particulière sera portée à la disponibilité du système et à sa tolérance auxpannes,notammentàsacapacitéàcontinuerdefournirunepartsignificativedelapuissancerequiseencasdedéfaillanced’unesourced’alimentationoud’undéfautdanslachaînedeconversiondepuissance.

Context

This internship is part of a PhD research program focused on the development of innovative power conversion architectures for supplying a 48 V electrical network in electric vehicles.

The research is based on the concept of a distributed battery architecture known as the " AC Battery", which requires a fundamental redesign of the vehicle's power electronics architecture.

The objective of the internship is to investigate novel isolated converter solutions capable of interfacing this battery architecture with the vehicle's 48 V power network.

Attention will be given to system availability and fault tolerance, especially the ability of the system to continue delivering a significant portion of the required power in the event of a source failure or a fault within the power conversion chain.

Your responsibilities

Depending on the progress of the project, the internship may involve the following activities:

  • Investigation of various power conversion architectures capable of meeting the availability and robustness requirements associated with supplying a 48 V electrical network.
  • Analysis of operating principles, performance characteristics, and behavior under different operating conditions to compare candidate solutions and support the selection of the most suitable architecture.
  • Preliminary sizing and design of the main components of the selected solution, along with the definition of the associated control strategies.
  • Modeling and simulation of the system to evaluate its performance and analyze its behavior under degraded operating conditions, including the assessment of multiple fault scenarios.

Your profile

Master's degree (MSc) or final year of an Engineering School program in Electronics Engineering, with a specialization in Embedded Systems and/or Power Electronics.
