Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor - MFB

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary (Purpose of the Role)

• Runs the engine room of the bank: cash and vault management, tellering, account services, transfers, end-of-day processing, and the enforcement of operational controls across the branch.

Job Responsibilities

• Balance the vault at close of business; investigate and resolve any teller overages/shortages same day.
• Authorize transactions above teller limits, manage cash swaps, and monitor till/vault insurance limits.
• Run/supervise end-of-day (EOD) on the core banking application and review exception reports.
• Open the vault jointly with the designated custodian; disburse till cash to tellers against registers.
• Enforce dual control, call-over of previous day's tickets, and other operational controls.
• Supervise tellers, customer care, and back-office processing throughout the day.
• Coordinate with ICT on downtime issues and with Finance on daily proofs/reconciliations.
• Oversee account opening, mandates, cheque management, transfers, and other customer instructions.
• Ensure branch cash holding stays within insured limits; arrange cash evacuation to correspondent bank.

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc./HND in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Professional Certification:

• CIBN MCP strongly preferred (required for CBN approval of top management positions); ACIB an advantage

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 7 years in banking operations, with at least 3 years supervising branch operations in an MFB or commercial bank. Proven track record in microfinance, retail banking, or SME lending, Must satisfy CBN fit-and-proper requirements.

Technical / Job Skills:

• Branch operations management; cash and vault management; transfer operations (NIP, NEFT); account services; core banking administration and EOD processing; operational risk controls; reconciliation oversight; knowledge of CBN cash handling and operational guidelines.

• Strong supervisory and coaching ability; calm under pressure; meticulousness; customer-service mindset; problem-solving; integrity. The ability to speak Igbo language is a part of the description.

Salary
N350,000 - N450,000 per month.
