Senior Security Engineer (Cyber Defense)

The Goal

OpenBet is looking for a highly motivated Senior Security Engineer to join its Cyber Defense team. Reporting to the Cyber Defense Senior Security Manager, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and improving security controls and security technologies across cloud and on-premises environments.

The successful candidate will combine strong security engineering expertise with hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, and security monitoring. This position participates in a on-call rotation to support critical security incidents and operational escalations.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the administration, hardening, and optimization of security tooling (SIEM, EDR, WAF, DAST/SAST, and Vulnerability Management platforms).
• Act as a security advisor for infrastructure, cloud, and application changes, promoting security-by-design principles.
• Monitor, investigate, and lead the response to security incidents, performing deep-dive log and root-cause analysis.
• Build and maintain SIEM detection use cases, correlation rules, and alerting dashboards.
• Coordinate vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, validating remediation with Engineering teams.
• Support GRC and audit readiness by validating technical security controls and collecting evidence.
• Maintain Incident Response playbooks, runbooks, and participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.

The Player

• BSc in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 6-7 years of experience in Cybersecurity, operating within fast-paced, high-availability environments.
• Expertise in security architecture, Zero Trust principles, and cloud security across major platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on experience implementing and customizing security tech (WAF, NDR, EDR) and infrastructure hardening.
• Proficiency in incident management, root cause analysis, digital forensics, and penetration testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, SOAR, threat intelligence, and key frameworks (GLI-33, WLA, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Strong project management and communication skills to influence global stakeholders.
• Professional English fluency (written and spoken).
