Osborne Clarke is an international legal practice. Our goal is simple: to help our clients, people and communities succeed in tomorrow's world. Learn more now.

Role profile

Building on our continued success, our innovative and

growing Osborne Clarke Solutions (OCS) team is looking for an Innovation Solutions

Architect, known internally as a Solutions Manager, to join us in Bristol or

London.

This role will have a primary focus on exploring and

piloting the use of AI technologies, data integrations, orchestration layers

and emerging platforms to enhance the delivery of legal services, working

closely with ITS, Change, and Risk & Compliance teams to pursue better ways

of working. The role carries a strong R&D focus, collaborating with OCS and

ITS leads to identify, evaluate and implement new AI tools, data integration

solutions (including Boomi and MCPs), and to explore how platforms such as PowerApps

and CoPilot can be leveraged within our existing technology stack.

We currently operate a hybrid working model, enabling us to

benefit from both home and office working.

The Team

Osborne Clarke's Solutions team plays a crucial role in

helping clients explore exactly how they would like legal and related services

to be delivered to maximise the value to their businesses. The team is client

led, developing new products and services to deliver existing services better,

and to deliver entirely new services to meet growing client needs. The team

operates out of the UK and Europe, with teams of ex-lawyers, and technologists

across locations.

Our Solutions programme has two key goals. First, to make

sure we're responding to client demands for greater value, efficiency and

certainty from their lawyers, whilst maintaining the highest quality. Secondly,

in helping us bring innovative ideas to the delivery of our, or our clients',

current and new, services. A significant and growing part of this innovation

involves researching, piloting and integrating AI technologies to transform how

we deliver legal services across the firm.

We want to ensure our lawyers have the best products and

resources needed to provide the best possible service to our clients.

Key Role Responsibilities:

AI-Driven Innovation & R&D: Spearhead initiatives to

explore, pilot and integrate existing and new AI technologies within the firm,

working in close collaboration with ITS, Change, and Risk & Compliance

teams. Beyond AI, the role will focus on exploring data integration

opportunities using platforms such as Boomi, investigating the potential of

Model Context Protocols (MCPs) and orchestration layers, and developing a

broader awareness of how tools such as PowerApps and CoPilot can be leveraged

into our existing platforms including HighQ, Legora and ContractExpress. Engage

with stakeholders across these functions to identify and understand business

needs and use cases for AI, data integrations, orchestration layers and

platform enhancements in legal service delivery. Research, evaluate and pilot

new tools and initiatives to pursue better ways of working, enhance service

delivery and improve operational efficiency. This involves staying abreast of

the latest advancements in AI and adjacent technologies, conducting thorough

research and proof-of-concept exercises, and fostering a culture of innovation

and experimentation. Working alongside OCS and ITS leads, you will help guide

the firm through the transformative potential of these technologies, ensuring

that solutions are not only cutting-edge but also practical, scalable and

impactful.

Promotion of OC Solutions: Regular engagement and

interaction with, and demonstrations to, OC colleagues regarding the solutions

available through OC Solutions; supporting the production of case studies and

other marketing material and speaking at relevant events and conferences.

Role Outline:

  • AI, Data & Platform Innovation: Working with OCS and ITS

leads, research, evaluate and pilot new AI tools, data integration solutions

(including Boomi and MCPs), orchestration layers, and platform capabilities

(including PowerApps and CoPilot) to explore how these technologies can enhance

the delivery of legal services and integrate with existing tools such as HighQ,

Legora and ContractExpress. Collaborate with ITS, Change, and Risk &

Compliance teams to identify use cases, run proof-of-concept pilots, and drive

adoption of successful solutions across the firm.

  • Champion cross-functional piloting initiatives, coordinating

with ITS, Change, and Risk & Compliance stakeholders to test and iterate on

new AI-driven ways of working, data integration approaches and platform

enhancements, and to build the business case for wider rollout.

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of solutions to client and

OC teams, enabling the adoption of the solutions.

  • Manage and contribute to the build of the resulting

solutions through configuration of the OC technology stack, use of OCS' coding

tools, and the development of automated documents for client and/or OC use.

  • Ensure solutions are thoroughly tested (incl with clients),

and planning/managing a roadmap of iterative changes and improvements to the

    solutions.

  • Actively participate in the team's product development

    process, including client feedback sessions.

  • At all times act as a brand ambassador for Osborne Clarke

    Solutions.

We are looking for:

As well as having an interest in technology, disruption and

problem solving, we need someone who has:

  • AI & Technology Experience: Demonstrated experience in

researching, evaluating and piloting AI technologies and data integration

platforms to solve business problems, with the ability to work

cross-functionally across technology, change and compliance teams.

  • Familiarity with integration tools (e.g. Boomi), MCPs,

orchestration layers, or low-code/no-code platforms (e.g. PowerApps, CoPilot)

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services

    environment.

  • Proven experience of working with workflow and automation

    technology.

  • Evidence of picking up new technologies and becoming a

    subject matter expert in them.

  • Evidence of senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Capable of quickly picking up and understanding new

    technologies.

  • Comfortable engaging with people and leading client-facing

    conversations.

  • Experience of managing and accepting failure and developing

    resolution plans to evolve solutions.

  • Be curious, creative and have a desire to change things for

    the better.

  • Be invested in delivering a high-quality client experience.
  • Active and supportive team member that looks to contribute

    to a healthy team dynamic.

  • Bring independence and diversity of thought every day.
