Position Overview
PIMCO is seeking an experienced and adaptable Strategic Projects PM/BA to join a central strategic initiatives team. This role is designed for a highly versatile professional who can rapidly understand new business domains, lead complex cross-functional initiatives, and drive execution across a diverse portfolio of strategic priorities.
Unlike traditional project management roles aligned to a specific program or business area, this position operates as a generalist. The successful candidate will be assigned to a variety of high-priority initiatives across technology, operations, investment management, regulatory, data, and enterprise functions as business priorities evolve.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with excellent business analysis capabilities. They are intellectually curious, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and capable of quickly becoming effective in unfamiliar subject areas. They are also proficient in leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, planning, communication, and delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiative Delivery
- Lead strategic initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Quickly establish subject matter understanding across new business domains and operating models.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and delivery roadmaps.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives within established timelines.
- Identify and resolve project issues, risks, and organizational roadblocks.
- Drive accountability across stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit requirements and uncover underlying business needs.
- Translate discussions into clear business requirements, functional specifications, and actionable deliverables.
- Document current-state and future-state workflows, business processes, and operating models.
- Support solution design activities by ensuring business requirements are clearly defined and understood.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing, validation activities, and implementation readiness.
Executive Communications & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare concise executive presentations, status updates, decision materials, and briefing documents.
- Communicate complex topics clearly to both business and technology audiences.
- Present project progress, risks, recommendations, and strategic tradeoffs to senior leadership.
- Build strong relationships across departments and effectively influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and coordinator for business and technology teams.
AI-Enabled Delivery
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, analysis, documentation quality, and project execution.
- Utilize AI to accelerate requirements gathering, process documentation, meeting summarization, research, planning, and communication activities.
- Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into business processes and project delivery approaches.
- Stay current on evolving AI technologies and identify practical applications that create business value.
- Promote responsible and effective adoption of AI-based ways of working.
Process Improvement & Change Management
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, operating models, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop implementation approaches that balance business value, risk, and organizational readiness.
- Support stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and adoption activities.
- Drive continuous improvement across strategic initiatives and project delivery practices.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 8+ years of experience in project management, business analysis, consulting, program management, or related roles.
- Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives in dynamic environments.
- Experience managing multiple priorities across different business domains simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of both business and technology delivery lifecycles.
- Proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within an asset management firm, investment bank, financial services organization, or management consulting firm.
- Exposure to investment management, trading, operations, regulatory, data, technology, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting senior executives and working within highly matrixed organizations.
- Certification(s) such as PMP, CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent are a plus.

Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 206,000.00
