Job Description & Summary

A career in our U.S. Tax practice, within International Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help multinational companies address their U.S.tax needs both locally and globally, by optimizing their global tax structure and navigating U.S. domestic and cross-border regulations. You’ll gain a global perspective and an awareness of tax issues stemming from changes to evolving business structures and geographic expansions.

Our team advises our clients on tax laws and reporting, legislation and planning strategies based on the geography and jurisdiction. You’ll be assisting our team with local tax laws, reporting requirements, statutory filings, corporate strategy, transfer pricing and indirect tax and other international taxation needs.

The opportunity

Join our U.S. tax practice in Canada as a U.S. Tax Director, where you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to multinational clients across industries. You’ll help clients navigate complex U.S. domestic and cross-border tax matters, optimize their global tax structures, and respond to evolving business models and geographic expansion. From statutory compliance and tax filings to provision support, strategic planning, and consulting, you’ll lead the full spectrum of their U.S. tax needs while playing a key role in shaping the future of our practice.

  • Lead the delivery of U.S. corporate tax compliance and tax provision engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely execution.
  • Review and sign off on U.S. federal and state income tax returns, tax provisions, and related compliance deliverables.
  • Research and advise on U.S. federal and state tax matters, including legislative and regulatory developments and their impact on clients.
  • Manage complex tax engagements and projects, identifying technical issues, risks, and practical solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships and provide tax consulting support alongside ongoing compliance and provision requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, strengthen technical tax knowledge and promote efficient, technology-enabled ways of working.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities within new and existing client relationships.
  • Maintain strong internal networks and uphold the firm’s professional, ethical, and business conduct standards.

What you'll bring

  • 7+ years of U.S. corporate tax experience, preferably with a public accounting firm.
  • A U.S. CPA, Canadian CPA or JD; a Master’s in U.S. Taxation is an asset.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. corporate tax, with strong research and writing skills.
  • Enough grounding in international tax to spot cross-border issues and work effectively with our international and other tax specialists.
  • A history of earning client trust and managing several engagements at once.
  • A commitment to valuing differences and building diverse teams.
  • An eagerness to adopt new technology.

This position ensures continuity and upholds our standards of excellence following the departure of a valued team member.

We’re committed to providing accommodation throughout the application, interview, and employment process. If you require accommodation to be at your best, please let us know during the application process. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in recruiting is just getting started, so we know you have questions about how and why we use it. At certain points during our recruiting process, we rely on AI to improve your experience. This could be during resume review or curating personalized job recommendations, asking you clarifying questions via a chatbot or during our interview scheduling to improve your experience. Our use of AI helps ensure we combat bias by evaluating candidates equally and fairly, without seeing identity information, such as your name, or gender for example). AI also helps us better predict successful hires by reviewing all applicants for a role and the relationship between your skills, experience and likely success at PwC Canada. While AI supports parts of our recruitment process, final hiring decisions always involve human review. For more information about our use and protection of your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy (https://www.pwc.com/ca/en/privacy-policy.html).Nous tenons à répondre à vos besoins tout au long du processus de demande d’emploi, d’entrevue et d’embauche.
