BI Developer

My client based in Cape Town, Constantia is currently looking for a BI Developer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and reporting requirements from stakeholders.
• Design, develop and maintain end-to-end BI solutions across the full technology stack.
• Build and maintain robust ETL processes to extract, transform and load data from multiple source systems.
• Develop and enhance data warehouse solutions to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
• Create and maintain a centralised, trusted source of business data.
• Design relational and dimensional data models that support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Develop reports, dashboards and visualisations that provide meaningful business insights.
• Analyse data trends and identify opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across BI platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable and sustainable BI solutions.
• Provide mentorship, guidance and technical support to junior team members.
• Contribute to BI strategy, continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a BI Developer / BI Analyst Developer.
• Strong experience designing and developing end-to-end BI solutions.
• Advanced SQL development and database querying skills.
• Proven experience with ETL development, data integration, and data transformation processes.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modelling.
• Experience working with BI visualisation tools such as Power BI or Qlik.
• Strong analytical and numerical ability.
• Proven track record of delivering successful BI and data-related projects.
• Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS.
• Snowflake.
• Talend.
• Power BI.
• Qlik Sense / QlikView.
• Experience within financial services, asset management, investments, or related industries.
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
