Accountant

Job Description: Rahat Impex is seeking an Accountant to support accurate financial recordkeeping and day-to-day accounting operations at its Karachi office. This full-time, on-site role helps maintain reliable accounts and provide timely financial information for business decisions. The successful candidate will handle confidential information carefully, work accurately, and meet recurring reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities include:

• Record and reconcile receipts, payments, invoices, journal entries, and other transactions.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and organized supporting financial documentation.
• Prepare regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing and preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and support payment processing.
• Coordinate with colleagues and respond to routine finance-related queries.

Job Specification:

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping, double-entry accounting, and general ledger processes.
• Ability to accurately reconcile bank, supplier, customer, and other balance-sheet accounts.
• Practical understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment records.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Excel, for calculations, reconciliations, and reports.
• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems and maintaining digital financial records.
• Knowledge of applicable Pakistani tax and statutory documentation is an advantage.
• Strong numerical accuracy, organization, discretion with confidential information, clear communication, and the ability to investigate discrepancies and meet deadlines.
