Junior Design Engineer (Graduate)

SUMMARY:
About the Role
A leading mining equipment OEM is looking for a Junior Design Engineer for its Alrode engineering hub. You’ll start in 3D CAD draughting and grow into design, simulation and site work, with occasional visits to open-cast mines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings, manage PLM models and maintain Bills of Material
• Generate concepts, design and reverse engineer products
• Run FEA (plus DEM/MBD as needed) and interpret results for product optimisation
• Scan components on site (FARO laser scanning) and process point-cloud data
• Join sales on site visits as a technical advisor and help with presentations and simulation videos
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting and failure inspections
• Contribute to design reviews, ISO implementation and technical reports

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

• B.Eng in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering 
• 0–3 years’ experience (mining or design background is an advantage)
• Familiarity with CAD, with exposure to FEA/CAE a plus
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Team player, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Physically able to perform site duties
