The opportunity

We’re looking for a Procurement & Logistics Specialist to own how we buy, ship and pay for the components and equipment our Product Development and Production teams rely on. You’ll make sure we get the right products, at the right price, at the right time. That means managing day-to-day purchasing against our product BOM, building strong relationships with key suppliers, and coordinating shipments, imports and exports in line with international regulations.

Alongside day-to-day purchasing, we’d like you to take a strategic approach to procurement. This includes sourcing and evaluating new suppliers, benchmarking prices, negotiating better terms, and improving our processes to reduce costs and lead times across our supply chain and shipping. You’ll also manage the purchasing side of accounts payable, working closely with our Finance Lead to raise purchase orders and make sure supplier invoices are accurate and processed on time.

This is a hands-on role with real scope to shape our processes. It suits someone who enjoys both getting the detail of every order right and the bigger picture of building an efficient, cost-effective supply chain.

Responsibilities

Procurement & supplier management

  • Order products in line with our product BOM and as requested by the wider team
  • Work with the Product Development and Production teams to anticipate purchasing needs, and ensure products arrive on time and meet our quality requirements
  • Track orders through to delivery and resolve any delays or issues
  • Research, evaluate and onboard new suppliers
  • Regularly benchmark suppliers and pricing, and identify alternative suppliers to reduce cost and supply risk
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms and supplier agreements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Improve our procurement processes as the organisation grows
  • Keep accurate records of orders, contracts and supplier details
  • Work with the Workshop Technicians to maintain an accurate stock system, so that the inventory levels are always up to date and records are audit-ready.

Logistics

  • Coordinate larger deliveries on site, as well as imports and exports
  • Manage and track shipments, liaising with carriers, freight forwarders and customs
  • Prepare accurate shipping documentation, including descriptions of goods and commodity codes.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping and customs regulations
  • Find cost-effective shipping solutions and improve our customs and import/export procedures
  • Keep internal teams informed of delivery and shipping status

Accounts payable (in collaboration with the Finance Lead)

  • Generate purchase orders
  • Receive, verify and process supplier invoices, checking them against purchase orders and deliveries
  • Maintain up-to-date records of invoices and receipts

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a procurement, purchasing, supply chain or logistics role
  • A proven track record of sourcing, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers, ideally with examples of cost savings or process improvements you’ve delivered
  • Experience in a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using ERP, inventory management or purchasing systems
  • Experience with import/export processes, including customs clearance, commodity codes and Incoterms
  • Strong analytical skills, including confidence working with spreadsheets to analyse data and spot numerical errors
  • Excellent organisation and time management, with a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your area
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

It’s a bonus if you have…

  • A procurement qualification such as CIPS (or are working towards one)

Even if you don’t tick every box listed above but are motivated by our work and believe you can make a difference on our team, we’d really love to hear from you - so please do apply and drop us a note about what you bring! We are particularly interested in hearing from you if your background enables you to bring a different perspective to our team.

Benefits

  • Progression: we are growing rapidly and excited for you to make an impact as we do so
  • Unlimited holiday
  • A welcoming and inclusive team environment with monthly company-wide socials
  • Plenty of opportunities for training and personal development
  • Healthcare coverage - Vitality is available from your very first day!
