What You’ll Do:
Operating at the intersection of Solution Engineering,Professional Servicesand Product Management, RFP/RFIForward Deployed Engineers (FDEs)leverage state-of-the-art AI tooling alongside deep implementation expertiseand industry knowledgeto build foundational solutions,solve complex problems, accelerateour customers' time-to-valueand decrease the cost of traditional services.You will partner with our sales organization byapplying your technical abilities, problem solving skillsand business acumen in support of SailPoint’s growth objectives.
RFP/RFI Forward Deployed Engineers(FDEs) at SailPoint embark on their journey by undergoing comprehensive productand salestraining. This initialphase allows them to harness their existing experience, paving the way for a profound understanding of our SaaS solutionsand the challenges theysolve forour customers.
- Within two months, FDEsbegin participatinginsales dealswhere they will leveragetheir product implementation expertiseas well as client and partner communication skillstoimplementfoundational solutions and proof-of-value implementations, leading to rapid time to value.
- After their first six months, FDEswillbe expected to serve as technical leads on customer engagements andhave established themselves as both technical and consultative experts within the SailPoint Salesorganization
- By the end of their first year,they will have become a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and to less experienced team members.They may have the opportunityto speak at national or regional conferences and user groups.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the sales process and work closely with the direct and channel sales teams
- Discover and understand customer requirements and align our solutions to those requirements, augmenting your expertise with AI tooling
- Participate in onsite and remote foundational implementation engagements
- Educatecustomers on high-level product architecture, functional design, and best practices
- Assistin theanalysis, and documentation of customer requirements and how they mapto SailPoint solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like sales, solution engineering, product, professional services, and customer success to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Collaborate with otherForward Deployed Engineeringteam members to design creative solutions to complex problems.
- Master ArtificialIntelligence andAgentic technologiesto solve customer problems.
- Contribute to building out Agentic technologysolutions that become our standard for demonstrations of SailPoint’s products.
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company, systems integrator, or consulting firm; 3+ years of software implementation or pre-sales experience. Experiencein software development, implementation,and configuration
- Excellent communications skills and extensive experience working directly with clients and partners
- A working knowledge of technical infrastructure including web services, application servers, databases, virtualization, and directories is required
- Conversant in modern SaaS architecture
- Experience withagentic coding toolssuch as
- Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub CoPilot, OpenAI Codex
- Familiarity with Java, XML, Python, SQL,Powershell,JSON, Azure/AWS/GCP is desirable
- Experience with the following tech-stack
- NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, React.js
Preferred:
- 3+ years working with Identity, Governance and Access Management solutions
- Experience with at least one of the following
- Windows and Unix (Linux, Sun, HP, AIX) platforms
- Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
- Directories (LDAP, AD)
- Enterprise resource planning or service management systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow)
- Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with SailPoint productsandvendorssuch as Saviynt, RSA/Aveksa, One Identity, OralceIdentity Manager, etc.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
- Experience with project management duties (project planning, resource management, scope, schedule and status, documentation)
- Experience with quality assurance duties (usability testing, performance testing, automated testing, test scripts, test cases and test plans)
- Security software or IT audit experience
Education:
- Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
- J2EE certification and/or CISSP certification is a plus
- SailPoint Certified Engineer or Solution Architect is a plus and is expected within 12 months of hire
Travel:
- This positionmay requireup to 15% travel
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-max, USD):
$106,100 - $178,770.00Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
