SAP BW Expert

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a business area of the Sandvik Group and a leading supplier of equipment and tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining industry and specialist sectors such as quarrying, tunnelling, demolition, dimensional stone, recycling and the civil engineering industry. We are looking for an experienced SAP BW Expert to support and continuously enhance our SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) solution built on SAP NetWeaver BW. The role focuses on SAP BW development, production support, performance optimization, and ensuring reliable integration across the SAP analytics landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong background in Data Warehousing, Reporting, and ETL, with hands-on experience implementing SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, and Analysis for Office.
• Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW/BW4HANA solutions, including data modelling, interfaces, data acquisition, data transfer, authorizations, and reporting objects.
• Develop and maintain SAP BW/BW4HANA data models, including ADSOs, Composite Providers, Transformations, DTPs, Open Hubs, Process Chains, and BW Queries to support SAP PaPM reporting and analytics requirements.
• Support the integration of SAP PaPM with SAP BW, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and other enterprise source systems to ensure seamless data flow, reconciliation, accuracy, and consistency.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve data, system, and performance issues across SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP PaPM, DataStage, and integrated peripheral systems.
• Monitor and support SAP PaPM functions, processing activities, data load scheduling, batch jobs, and resolve production incidents and performance bottlenecks.
• Identify and implement automation, optimization, and continuous improvement opportunities across BW data flows and support processes.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing BW solutions.
• Ensure data availability, reliability, and optimal system performance while supporting large-scale enterprise data processing.
• Support transport management, testing, deployment activities, and technical documentation across development, quality, and production environments.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP BW supporting the SAP PaPM landscape by providing technical guidance, second-line support, knowledge sharing, and mentoring as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of overall SAP experience, including a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP NetWeaver BW/BW4HANA development and support.
• Strong expertise in SAP BW/BW4HANA data modelling, ETL, data acquisition, reporting, and integration.
• Strong SQL skills with solid debugging, troubleshooting, and performance analysis capabilities.
• Experience supporting SAP BW environments integrated with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, allocations, profitability analysis, or management accounting processes is desirable.
• Exposure to SAP's data and analytics roadmap, including SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), and BW modernization initiatives, will be considered a strong advantage.
