Overview

Scout Motors is seeking a Manager, PMO - Commercial Operations within the Commercial Office, a coordinating department that forms strategic plans with, and sets alignment for, all Commercial Operations functions. 

Operating at the intersection of strategy, operations, and planning, the Commercial Office drives cross-functional collaboration, professionalizes Commercial Operations business planning and administration, and advances execution of top priorities. 

Within the Commercial Office, the PMO team is hiring a Manager to lead the Commercial Operations PMO team.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Support the definition and manage the master project plan for Commercial Operations, ensuring proper governance, documentation, coordination, and delivery of numerous complex projects contributing to Scout Motors retail readiness. 
  • Lead the development of the Commercial Operations Readiness meeting including delivery timelines, aligning and coordinating interdependencies both inside and outside of Commercial Operations, as well as establishing a governance process associated with these timelines. 
  • Manage documentation within Confluence and Jira environments, plus create highly professional project documentation for summary-level presentations to executive audiences. 
  • Drive special initiatives across a range of topics in partnership with cross-functional teams and Commercial Operations leadership. 
  • Survey, collect, challenge, and integrate relevant milestone planning documentation across Commercial Operations functions, including Customer Support, Training, Sales & Marketing, Digital Products, and Aftersales. 
  • Lead the development of the top-level budget of Commercial Operations, coordinating with each functional leader to ensure accurate forecasting and timely reporting. 
  • Support, coordinate and align the top-level headcount plan of Commercial Operations. 
  • Lead meeting execution, decision tracking, and deliverable documentation, following up with responsibilities on behalf of Commercial Operations. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to drive alignment, solve complex business challenges, and accelerate decision making.
  • Coordinate external vendor and agency business documentation, tracking statements of work, purchase orders, and milestone-based payments in partnership with Finance and Procurement. 
  • Lead coordination within Commercial Operations on all pre-series related topics.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Commercial Operations leaders, translating strategic priorities into executable plans and escalating material risks or decisions requiring leadership attention. 
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment that promotes accountability, professional growth, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Operations PMO team, setting clear objectives, providing ongoing feedback, and supporting individual development and career growth.
  • Hold direct reports and cross-functional workstream owners accountable for timely, high-quality delivery of milestones, decisions, and corrective actions.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Education/Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree
  • Years of Experience required in type of role: 10 years of experience in a Project Management or automotive environment, preferably in a Project Manager role. Automotive experience is preferred but not required.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skillful at organizational navigation and cross-functional collaboration at all levels; ability to develop effective internal partnerships and relationships.
  • Experience building in a start-up environment where basic infrastructure, systems and processes must be created in a greenfield environment.
  • Strong knowledge or project management system and tools, to include Confluence and Jira.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
