  • Collaborate with architects, cloud infrastructure, SRE, security, application, Product Management, and Product Design teams to align delivery across functions and development centres.
  • Monitor resourcing, capability, and critical people dependencies, and plan measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Embed security, compliance, high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and SRE practices including SLAs, SLOs, and incident response into team delivery.
  • Contribute to engineering strategy, future capacity, investment, scalability, and long-term technical direction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance developer experience and operational efficiency, including adoption of generative AI productivity tools across technology functions.
  • Coordinate responses to escalated technical support issues and, where required, manage third-party software vendor and contractor relationships, contracts, statements of work, and milestones.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 10 or more years of demonstrated software engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading a team directly or indirectly.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish clear communication practices and performance expectations across teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate functional strategies into actionable plans and oversee initiatives that directly impact team and job-area performance.
  • Ability to apply logical analysis and prior experience to resolve moderately complex challenges and improve systems and processes.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of organizational practices and policies, with experience applying new skills and tools to support team and business goals.
  • Ability to work flexibly across global time zones and provide occasional Tier 3 after-hours support.
