A Snapshot of Your Day
To support the digital transformation of engineering workflows within Siemens Energy's Asia Pacific Projects & Service team, this 6-month internship focuses on exploring and implementing artificial intelligence solutions. The role aims to drive engineering productivity and efficiency within the Electrification, Automation, and Digitalization division in Singapore. To address these business aims, this role focuses on AI tool evaluation, workflow automation, and technical document analysis. These areas directly support the optimization of engineering processes by reducing manual checking efforts and validating smart solutions. Given the focus on AI integration and electrical/automation engineering, the ideal candidate will be a student in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Computer Science with a strong interest in AI technologies and data analysis. Strong analytical skills and a proactive learning mindset are essential for collaborating with professional engineering teams.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- AI Integration & Tool Development
- Explore and evaluate practical applications of AI models and tools within electrical and automation engineering workflows.
- Support the development, coding, or scripting of AI tools designed to improve engineering productivity.
- Test and validate newly developed AI solutions in collaboration with senior project engineers.
- Engineering Document Analysis & Automation
- Assist in analyzing complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, datasheets, and schematic data using AI-assisted tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering tasks and document-checking activities to minimize manual errors.
- Test and validate AI solutions together with engineers
- Document findings, test cases, and workflow improvements to support knowledge transfer within the Projects & Service team.
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation& Control, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
- Prior exposure to programming languages (e.g., Python) or data analysis tools through academic projects or coursework is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of Electrical or Automation Engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, datasheets, and technical specifications
- Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or automation scripts)
- Analytical thinking and systematic problem-solving capabilities
- Collaborative communication and teamwork in a multicultural engineering environment
- Proactive learning attitude and adaptability to new digital tools
