SOSi is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support a mission-critical federal payroll and financial management program. This role will support software development, application sustainment, and production operations within a complex enterprise environment.

Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer will support the full software development lifecycle, including software design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support. The successful candidate will possess strong legacy application experience supporting enterprise business systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications.
Develop and maintain COBOL applications within an IBM z/OS environment.
Analyze and resolve production issues, including batch processing failures.
Support software releases, production deployments, and configuration management.
Participate in requirements analysis, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
Collaborate with systems engineers, database administrators, testers, and customer stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
10+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
Experience supporting enterprise business applications.
COBOL, IBM z/OS, JCL, SDLC, Production Support, Software Testing, Configuration Management
Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Payroll, financial management, or ERP systems

Work Environment

Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations
Remote or Hybrid work model
Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 - 1700.
May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs
