We are technology enthusiasts with a business mindset. Since 2013, GAUSS Algorithmic has been solving problems where conventional approaches are not enough. Our experience from more than 120 projects across 14 industries helps us quickly identify where AI can deliver real value and design solutions that work in practice.
We work with the latest AI technologies and are looking for new colleagues who want to learn, experiment and push the boundaries of what is possible today.
We are looking for a versatile Medior/Senior AI Software Engineer to join our sharp team and jump aboard a moving train. You will take ownership of developing modern AI applications, face diverse technical challenges and contribute to the entire process - from understanding the problem through development to deploying the final solution. This is not a role focused on one product or a narrowly defined part of a system.
The role is full-time, available on a contract or freelance basis. We prefer meeting in our Brno office, with a hybrid setup possible by agreement.
What you will do
You will build and deliver complete AI solutions:
- Backend development in Python: You will develop primarily backend services and applications.
- API and cloud integrations: You will integrate external REST APIs and cloud services.
- Data storage: You will work with databases, blob storage and other data repositories.
- Applied AI: You will implement RAG systems, voicebots, AI agents and data pipelines.
- Unstructured data processing: You will process documents, technical drawings and other unstructured data.
- Customer systems: You will connect AI models with existing customer applications and systems.
- Deployment and operations: You will deploy and operate solutions in the cloud as well as directly in customer environments.
- AI-assisted development: You will actively use AI tools in software development and look for the best ways to apply them.
- Cross-functional collaboration: You will work with solution architects, ML developers, the delivery manager and customers.
- Improving how we build: You will help evolve our internal frameworks, tools and development standards.
The technical foundation we need
What is truly essential
- Python backend experience: You have experience developing backend applications in Python.
- Larger systems: You have practical experience building a larger application or system.
- REST APIs: You can develop and integrate REST APIs.
- Databases and SQL: You have experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Docker and Linux: You have practical Docker knowledge and navigate Linux confidently.
- AI tools in daily work: You actively use AI tools when developing software.
- Business context: You understand customer needs and the value our solutions deliver.
- Curiosity: You want to learn new technologies, experiment and find solutions that work.
- Ownership: You are independent, responsible and proactive.
- Teamwork: You can collaborate in a team and communicate openly.
- Customer communication: You can speak with customers, understand their needs and translate them into a technical solution.
Nice to have
You do not need to know everything. We will be happy if you are familiar with at least some of the following areas:
- Application development practices: FastAPI, automated testing or working in a team with a Git workflow.
- Cloud and infrastructure: Deploying applications with Kubernetes or working with Azure or AWS.
- Generative AI projects: Projects using LLMs, RAG or AI agents.
- Data and enterprise delivery: Building data pipelines or experience with larger enterprise projects.
The kind of teammate we are looking for
Do you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and thinking about the whole solution, not just your piece of code? Do you want to take responsibility for your work and actively search for better ways to develop software? Then there is a very good chance this role will suit you.

What the selection process looks like
We are a small team, so you can expect no unnecessary formalities or a long series of interviews.
First, you will meet Jirka and Martin. We will introduce our expectations, give you a closer look at working at GAUSS and gladly answer anything you want to know.
If we find that we are a good match, we will ask you to complete a short practical assignment. During the second meeting, we will review your solution together and talk about your approach and the decisions that led you there. We will also fill in any information you need to make your decision.
Your next step
Send us a few lines about yourself to [email protected]: what you have worked on and why this role caught your attention. Add a link to your LinkedIn, GitHub or a project you are proud of - whichever represents you best.
You do not need to tick every box. If you have strong development fundamentals, enjoy AI and recognise yourself in the profile above, we would love to meet you. Reach out - we are looking forward to hearing from you.
