Description of Work

This position serves as the customer service representative and is the human contact for Food and Nutrition Services recipients with questions concerning the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and access to benefits. Position engages in problem solving using recipient information, data from an administrative terminal, NC FAST database, on-line information guide and online manual.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $37,782 - $66,120

Recruitment Range: $37,782 - 44,106

  • Experienced in the use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook), along with the ability to navigate web-based applications and hyperlinked scripting guides.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply program policies to identify the root cause of a client issue and develop an effective and efficient solution, utilizing web-based applications and scripting guides.
  • Experienced in telephone client services using modern VOIP phone systems and be able to handle high-volume calls (150 - 200 calls per day) promptly and efficiently.
