Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a full-time hybrid position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is one of the world's largest food retailers.
The perfect candidate is primarily a QA Automation Engineer with strong Playwright expertise, who also has solid React/TypeScript knowledge and is comfortable reading and occasionally contributing to front-end code. The team needs a senior QA engineer with a development-adjacent skill set; the plan is to work mainly within the QA team, alongside engineers when needed.
The tech stack consists mainly of React, TypeScript and a bit of Node.js, with extensive use of in-house libraries and toolkits, so experience of working in such an environment would be welcome.
Hybrid mode with 3 days per week working from the office in Kraków.
This is a 6-month contract (from September 1st until the end of February) with a possible extension.
Requirements
Strong commercial experience as a Senior QA/Test Automation Engineer.
Hands-on, expert-level experience with Playwright and test automation frameworks.
Solid understanding of React and TypeScript - able to read, debug, and navigate front-end codebases.
Deep understanding of software testing principles, QA processes, and automation strategy.
Experience testing and integrating REST APIs or third-party/vendor APIs.
Working knowledge of Node.js.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both QA and development teams.
Experience working with large-scale applications and custom/internal frameworks or libraries.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, quality-driven mindset.
Nice to have
Previous experience in a hybrid role combining QA automation and Front-End Development.
Experience working in agile development environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Playwright.
Own QA coverage and test strategy for React/TypeScript front-end applications.
Test, validate, and troubleshoot integrations with vendor-provided APIs.
Identify, reproduce, document, and help resolve defects.
Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure product quality and reliable test coverage.
