FortiGate Firewall Engineer

We are seeking an experienced FortiGate Firewall Engineer to join a dynamic team in Mumbai. This hybrid role involves managing and optimizing complex network security infrastructure, ensuring robust protection and seamless operation for critical business systems. The successful candidate will be a Level 3 escalation point for technical issues and will play a key role in incident response and preventative measures.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and optimize enterprise FortiGate firewall infrastructure and Security Fabric.
• Configure and manage FortiGate security policies, NAT rules, traffic shaping, and high availability clusters.
• Administer FortiManager for centralized policy management and FortiAnalyzer for logging and reporting.
• Configure and maintain F5 BIG-IP systems, including LTM, GTM, ASM, and APM modules.
• Develop and maintain complex iRules for application-specific traffic management and implement SSL/TLS strategies.
• Serve as a Level 3 escalation point for complex FortiGate and F5 technical issues, leading critical incident response.
• Conduct root cause analysis, implement preventive measures, and develop technical documentation.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for emergency response and system maintenance.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of network security and application delivery experience, with 4-5 years in FortiGate administration.
• 3-4 years of hands-on F5 BIG-IP management experience (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, iRules).
• Expert-level FortiGate proficiency including FortiOS, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, VPN, and HA.
• Advanced F5 BIG-IP expertise including LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, iRules development, and SSL certificate management.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS) and network packet analysis.
• Certifications: Fortinet NSE 7 or NSE 8, F5-CTS, and Fortinet NSE 4 are required.
• Additional security certifications such as CISSP or CISM are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in large-scale enterprise environments and incident response.
