Neo4j Graph Data Migration Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Neo4j Graph Data Migration Engineer to lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of migrating large-scale, on-premises Neo4j database platforms to the AWS cloud environment. You will serve as the core technical driver for transitioning complex graph datasets and enterprise knowledge graphs while ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and high performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of complex graph database workloads from on-premises environments to AWS.
• Design and execute comprehensive data migration blueprints and bulk data transfer pipelines.
• Optimize Cypher queries for native cloud graph environments to ensure maximum performance.
• Identify and mitigate migration risks, edge-case failures, and schema disparities during cutover phases.
• Validate post-migration data integrity, ensuring complex relationship structures and pointers remain intact.
• Maintain and streamline ETL pipelines to synchronize data between legacy systems and new cloud instances.
• Troubleshoot post-migration bottlenecks related to memory allocation and disk I/O performance.
• Establish robust security postures for graph data within the cloud architecture.

Requirements

• 7-12 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Neo4j graph databases and AWS cloud environments.
• Advanced proficiency in writing and optimizing production-grade Cypher queries.
• Strong experience with AWS Glue, Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Athena.
• Expertise in big data compute using Amazon EMR, Apache Spark, PySpark, Hive, and Hadoop.
• Strong scripting skills in Python.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale data migrations with minimal production impact.
