Our challenge
We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of technology programs and client engagements within the Banking & Financial Services domain. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end delivery, client relationships, delivery teams, financial performance, and operational governance. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience working with large banking or financial services organizations, combined with a track record of managing complex technology programs and distributed teams in an IT services or consulting environment.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $140k - CAD $170k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end delivery of technology programs and client engagements, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, quality, and financial objectives.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
- Lead and manage large, cross-functional and geographically distributed teams across multiple workstreams.
- Establish delivery governance, operating cadence, KPIs, status reporting, risk management, and escalation processes.
- Partner with client stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate them into effective technology delivery plans.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, issues, and delivery challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Manage program financials, including revenue, margins, budgets, forecasts, resource utilization, and delivery profitability.
- Partner with Account Management, Sales, Architecture, Engineering, and Practice teams to support account growth and identify opportunities within existing engagements.
- Support resource planning, hiring, team development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Ensure adherence to organizational delivery standards, security requirements, and client governance processes.
- Provide executive-level reporting and communication to both internal leadership and client stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering, cloud, data, and AI capabilities where relevant to client transformation initiatives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in technology delivery, program management, or consulting, with significant experience in an IT services organization.
- Strong Banking & Financial Services domain experience, preferably with large banks or financial institutions.
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-year technology programs and large delivery teams.
- Experience managing P&L / financial performance, including revenue, margin, budgeting, forecasting, and utilization.
- Strong client-facing experience with the ability to engage effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery governance, risk management, issue resolution, and executive reporting.
- Strong understanding of software development and modern technology delivery practices.
- Experience working with distributed teams across North America and offshore/global delivery locations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience delivering transformation programs across areas such as Digital Banking, Payments, Lending, Wealth Management, Risk, Regulatory Technology, Data & Analytics, Cloud, or AI/ML.
- Experience working in an Agile / Scrum / DevOps environment.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with large-scale modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, risk, security, and compliance considerations within financial services.
