Position: Data Engineer - Power BI

Location: Toronto, ON

Mode of Work: Hybrid (3 days a week)

This job posting is for an existing, active vacancy and we are looking to hire a Data Engineer - Power BI Specialist.

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in Power BI to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and managing Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, and creating a robust semantic layer. This role is crucial for transforming data into actionable insights and enhancing data-driven decision-making processes.

Roles & Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business requirements.
• Develop and implement a semantic layer to facilitate data access and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize Power BI models for performance, scalability, and usability.
• Utilize Power Apps to create custom applications that enhance data interaction and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and Power Apps functionalities.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence.

Qualifications & Skills :

• 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Power BI modeling, dashboard development, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI reporting, data visualization best practices, and semantic layer development.
• Proficiency in Power Apps for creating custom business applications.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and AWS.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

The pay range for this role is CAD 100,000 - CAD 115,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
