Job Summary

Senior Automation Engineer (NQL/Remote Actions)

Experience Band 7-10 years

Location : Malaysia

Role Purpose

Lead the technical design and engineering of Nexthink automations, custom Remote Actions, NQL assets and approved integrations. The role establishes engineering standards and ensures that automation and integration changes are secure, testable, supportable and governed through the required Client controls.

Key Responsibilities

· Own solution architecture and technical design for Nexthink Remote Actions, self-healing workflows, NQL assets, PowerShell scripts and approved integrations.

· Translate prioritized experience problems into automation designs with prerequisites, target cohorts, safety controls, success criteria and rollback plans.

· Develop and review complex NQL, PowerShell and Nexthink automation logic and enforce coding, versioning and documentation standards.

· Lead pre-pilot, pilot, UAT and production-readiness activities and ensure evidence is sufficient for technical, security and change approvals.

· Coordinate code signing, certificate dependencies, privileged review, RFC inputs, production enablement and post-release monitoring.

· Design and govern APIs, connectors and webhook integrations, including data flow, authentication dependencies, logging, exception handling and operational runbooks.

· Monitor automation success, exception, adoption and benefit evidence; tune, suspend or retire assets when required.

· Provide technical oversight for the mid-level Automation Engineer and conduct design and code reviews.

· Partner with DEX analysts to validate problem statements, cohort logic and pre/post remediation outcomes.

· Coordinate complex technical issues and OEM cases with Nexthink and relevant Client platform teams.

Primary Deliverables

· Automation and integration solution designs.

· NQL, PowerShell, Remote Action and workflow packages with version history.

· Test strategy, pilot/UAT evidence, technical risk assessment and rollback plan.

· Code-signing and RFC input packages and production release records.

· Integration data-flow document, runbook and health-monitoring report.

· Automation register, technical standards and benefits/exception analysis.

Required Technical and Functional Skills

· Advanced Nexthink NQL, Remote Actions, automation and platform content engineering.

· Advanced PowerShell scripting, error handling, logging, secure coding and endpoint remediation design.

· Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication patterns and enterprise integration design.

· Working knowledge of ServiceNow integration, Microsoft Intune and enterprise endpoint-management processes.

· Strong understanding of code signing, certificates, source control, testing, UAT, change management and rollback controls.

· Ability to diagnose complex endpoint issues and design safe, scalable self-healing solutions.

· Technical leadership, code review, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Education, Experience and Credentials

· 7-10 years of experience in infrastructure automation, endpoint engineering, DEX engineering or enterprise integration.

· Demonstrable hands-on Nexthink experience involving NQL, Remote Actions and automation.

· Strong PowerShell development experience in managed enterprise environments.

· Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience in computer science, engineering or a related discipline.

· Relevant Nexthink NQL, DEX Automation, troubleshooting and platform credentials are preferred.

· Experience with source control and structured software/automation delivery practices is preferred.
