Job Summary
Title:Production Engineer - AI Storage / HPC
Location: Remote,United States
We are looking for a hands-on Production Engineer specializing in distributed storage and HPC/AI infrastructure. The role will focus on building, operating, and optimizing high-performance file and object storage supporting large-scale AI training environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and operate distributed file and object storage for AI/HPC workloads.
- Optimize storage performance across throughput, latency, metadata, caching, and networking.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and recovery using Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Support large-scale data migration across clusters, regions, and cloud environments.
- Own storage reliability, monitoring, performance testing, incident response, and production troubleshooting.
- Partner with engineering, research, security, and storage-provider teams.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with distributed storage, high-performance filesystems, or large-scale data infrastructure.
- Excellent Linux administration and production troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of filesystem, networking, concurrency, and storage performance.
- Programming/automation experience in Python, Go, C++, or Rust.
- Proven experience owning storage performance or reliability improvements end to end.
Preferred Skills
- NFS, POSIX, Lustre, ZFS/OpenZFS, Hammerspace, VAST, or Pure Storage
- HPC storage / AI training I/O / checkpointing
- Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure
- Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes Operators
- S3/Object Storage
- Observability, benchmarking, metrics, and tracing
- Cross-region/cloud data movement and storage tiering
The pay range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
