Invoice Coordinator - City of Baltimore

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Techno is seeking an Invoice Coordinator to support construction project billing and invoice review for the City of Baltimore. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction contracts, payment applications, schedules of values, and supporting documentation. This role will review invoices for accuracy and compliance, coordinate with project, contractor, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies, and maintain detailed billing records. This position is on-site at the Baltimore Integrated Program Office minimum 3 times a week. This is an 8 month role with a possibility of extension.

• Review and verify construction invoices, payment applications, and supporting documentation.
• Validate billed amounts against contracts, SOVs, change orders, and project progress.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, approvals, and related documentation.
• Support invoice tracking, reporting, and approval workflows.
• Monitor submissions for compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with forecasting, accruals, and budget reconciliation as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in construction billing, invoice review, project controls, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, billing procedures, and payment processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with project management/document control systems such as PMIS, SharePoint, or similar platforms preferred.
• Experience with large-scale transportation, infrastructure, or public-sector construction projects is a plus.

COMPENSATION

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $42-$48/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
